FM Botchorishvili: Georgia and Israel have deep historical ties, and our cooperation develops dynamically
“There are indeed historical ties between Georgia and the State of Israel, which are developing quite dynamically in various directions. This is my first visit to Israel, and I had the opportunity to meet my colleague,” Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said during her first official visit to Israel.
According to the Minister, the meeting focused on both the current state of bilateral relations and future cooperation prospects.
“We discussed strengthening trade and economic ties and areas of mutual interest—whether in agriculture, trade, education, or other fields. We also talked about what steps should be taken to further deepen relations. We reviewed specific plans, and I hope that ties between our countries will grow even stronger,” she noted.
Botchorishvili emphasised that tourism cooperation is progressing successfully.
“We already have strong tourism indicators; Georgia is an attractive destination for visitors, and this is very important,” she stated.
The Minister added that during her visit she will also meet with representatives of various ministries and members of the Knesset to discuss bilateral relations, the long-standing ties between the two peoples, and future directions for cooperation.
