First Deputy Minister of Defence attends REAIM third summit in Spain
The First Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia, Paata Patiashvili, attended the Third Summit on Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military (REAIM) held in La Coruña, Kingdom of Spain.
He participated in the summit at the invitation of Spain’s Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares.
According to the Georgian Ministry of Defence, during his speech at the summit, First Deputy Minister Patiashvili emphasised the significance of artificial intelligence in today’s security landscape and underscored the importance of responsible utilisation.
The La Coruña Summit serves as an international platform where representatives from government, the private sector, and civil society share their perspectives on the utilisation of artificial intelligence in military applications.
As part of the summit programme, the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia held a meeting with his Spanish counterpart, Admiral Juan Francisco Martínez Núñez. The two officials discussed avenues for cooperation and future prospects within the defence sector.
