Finnish FM: Positive outlook on Georgia's progress, confident in finding good response
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland emphasized in Brussels, during the meeting of the Council of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs, that EU enlargement is a merit-based process.
Elina Valtonen expressed a positive outlook, citing the progress in carrying out reforms in Georgia as a contributing factor to the optimistic sentiment.
“Finland is very committed to the enlargement of the EU, which is merit-based. I have had very good discussions with Georgia, and I think we are very positive about the signs of progress in many of the reforms. I’m sure we can find a good answer to that. That’s good for Georgia as well,” Elina Valtonen said.
