Fined pharmaceutical companies to file lawsuit against Competition Agency decision
Three pharmaceutical companies out of four fined by the National Competition Agency will file a lawsuit in court against the decision.
Aversi, PSP and Mermisi companies hope for a fair trial.
“We hope that under the conditions of a fair court, all companies will be able to prove the truth. Once again we announce that all companies employed in the pharmaceutical sector operate within the framework defined by the law and try their best to provide the population with high-quality and safe pharmaceutical products at the most affordable price,” reads their statement.
The National Competition Agency fined 4 pharmaceutical companies. The four companies were observed to have violated Article 7 of the Georgian Law on Competition within the framework of the state financing program of oncology medicines. The fine was imposed on Aversi, GEFA, PSP, and Mermisi. The amount of the imposed fine is 53 million GEL.
