The Georgian Finance Minister, Lasha Khutsishvili, met with Masatsugu Asakawa, the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), along with other key figures of the bank.

The Deputy Minister of Finance Ekaterine Guntsadze also attended the meeting at the headquarters of the Asian Development Bank in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, the Ministry of Finance reported.

The discussions primarily revolved around the cooperation between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank and the progress of projects financed by the ADB within the country. The meeting focused on the significance of hosting the 57th annual meeting of the ADB in Georgia on May 2-5 this year.

The Ministry stated that the ADB President commended Georgia’s preparations for the annual meeting.

Furthermore, the parties deliberated on the new cooperation strategy of the Asian Development Bank with Georgia, aimed at fostering a green and inclusive economy within the country. This strategy underscores the importance of regional cooperation and integration and the promotion of the private sector, human capital development, and initiatives addressing climate change.
