According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office (Geostat), foreign direct investment (FDI) in Georgia totalled 179.4 million USD in the first quarter of 2025, representing a 7.7% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.
Decreasing in equity and debt instruments is considered to be the main reason for the reduction of FDI.
Equity amounted to USD 62.1 million in Q1 2025, which is 34.6% of the total foreign direct investment. Reinvestment amounted to USD 150.0 million, and the share of reinvestment is 83.6% of total FDI.
