Ex-President's mother denies contact with Polish doctors

Giuli Alasania, the mother of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, has denied having any contact with the Polish doctors mentioned by the Penitentiary Service.

She expressed confusion regarding the allegations made by the Penitentiary Service and said that she did not know whether there was any protocol that Polish doctors had to follow.

Alasania stated that she had not been in contact with the doctors and therefore did not have the opportunity to provide them with any information.

“I had no contact with them at any level. Those who brought them and who were in contact with these people should have been responsible to provide the necessary explanations,” She emphasized.

The Special Penitentiary Service on Friday released a statement and video footage showing a Polish doctor “trying to sneak out the paper-wrapped sample taken from the jailed ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in his shoes.”
