Ex-president says "inhuman" politicians demand his transfer to jail

“Yesterday, some inhuman politicians in the parliament demanded my immediate transfer to the Rustavi prison after I participated in the court trial via video link and dared to speak about politics,” wrote jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili on Facebook.

Mikheil Saakashvili said that in the Vivamedi Clinic, he was restricted from contact and free movement, the only right he had was seeing his mother, who brought him food. He said his return to prison is a threat to his health state deterioration.

“They hope that I will collapse, die and they will feel happy. Judge yourselves, 80% of my symptoms did not go anywhere and the government knows this well,” he said.

The opposition For Georgia party urged the government to transfer Mikheil Saakashvili to prison. “We call on the Georgian Dream to stop pre-election shows, use of the court for PR purposes, and assisting split National Movement to unite again,” said For Georgia party member Mikheil Daushvili.
