Ex-President Saakashvili on former Defence Minister's detention: Raise your voices about this injustice
“Hasn’t the time come for society to acknowledge that Akhalaia was prosecuted on completely fabricated charges, and shouldn’t this family’s years of suffering finally end?” former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili wrote on social media in response to former Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia’s arrest.
“They covered up the chemical scandal with Liluashvili, now Liluashvili with Akhalaia.
They know Bacho very poorly if they think with their petty, dirty minds that they’ll get some confession from Bacho by threatening to detain his wife.
And hasn’t the time come, generally, for society to acknowledge that Akhalaia was prosecuted on completely fabricated charges, and shouldn’t this family’s years of suffering finally end?
Fine, you got away with detaining him in 2013, yet even now some must raise their voices about this injustice!” Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) detained former Georgian Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia yesterday, December 25. Bacho Akhalaia’s detention is linked to the October 4 case.
