EU Integration Committee Chair holds meetings in EP

The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili, and the First Deputy Chairman of the EU Integration Committee, Levan Karumidze held meetings in Strasbourg within the plenary session of the European Parliament (EP).

According to the Parliament’s press office, Georgian lawmakers met with the EP members, including the co-chair of the EU-Georgia Parliamentary Committee, the EP Rapporteur for Georgia, and the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

The meeting covered the topical issues of Georgia-EU cooperation, Georgia’s integration agenda within the EU enlargement policy, the importance of Georgia’s geopolitical context, and the expected results of upcoming elections in the European Parliament and Georgia.

“It is noteworthy that the European Parliament has prepared two reports on the EU’s Foreign Security Policy and Defense, showing Georgia’s support for European integration and strongly condemned Russia’s current occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions,” reads the press statement.

In total, Georgian MPs, including Georgia’s Ambassador to the European Union Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, held seventeen meetings in the European Parliament.
