EU in Georgia hopes rescuers to find missing persons in Adjara, Imereti landslides

The EU Delegation to Georgia expressed condolences to the families of victims of the landslide-hit Adjara and Imereti regions.

“The EU Delegation to Georgia expresses deep condolences to the family and friends of those who have tragically lost their lives due to the landslides in Ajara and Imereti regions. We hope that the rescue operation finds those who are still missing,” EU Delegation in Georgia wrote on Facebook.

Last night, a landslide hit Nergeti village of the Baghdati municipality in the Imereti region, trapping four houses. Rescuers have recovered four dead bodies, safely relocated one person, and are still searching for five missing individuals.
