EU discusses membership request of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Charles Michel says
European Council President Charles Michel said on Friday the EU is discussing the membership requests submitted by Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova.
In his speech in Versailles, Charles Michel pledged “we are also going to commit ourselves to help and support the choice they make for this European path.”
“We want to say solemnly, with force, to our Ukrainian friends that they are, of course, full members of the European family, and we want to tell them that we are going to commit ourselves and mobilize ourselves quickly, immediately to strengthen the link with the Ukrainian people,” he underscored.
We are discussing #Ukraine’s EU membership request.
They want to be part of the free & democratic world. We say to our Ukrainian friends: we hear you. You are fully members of our European family.
And we will concretely strengthen our support for your European choice.#EUCO pic.twitter.com/sn7Y0SiAnA
