EU Commissioner Varhelyi praises political agreement reached in Georgia
European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi echoed the political agreement reached between the government and opposition in Georgia.
“Spoke to the Chairman of Georgian Dream Irakli Kobakhidze today. Welcomed political agreement on a way out of the current crisis which should enable Georgia to deal with challenges like COVID-19 and economic recovery and regional issues. EU will continue to support Georgia and its people,” Oliver Varhelyi tweeted.
The Georgian political parties signed A way ahead for Georgia, a compromise document submitted to the parties by the European Council President Charles Michel, at the Orbeliani Palace on April 19.
