EU ambassador stresses importance of respecting Saakashvili's rights

According to EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, it is important that all the rights of the ex-president, Mikheil Saakashvili, are fully protected.

“We are aware of the recent reports about the deteriorating health of the ex-president Saakashvili. Of course, we are very concerned about those reports. We are in touch with his family, his lawyers and, of course, with relevant Georgian authorities. From our point of view, it is very important that all the rights of ex-president Saakashvili are fully respected, and, of course, it is up to the Georgian courts to decide about his future,” he stated.
