EU Ambassador praises consensus reached on electoral reform

“It seems that a broad consensus has been reached on electoral reform. Now, wait for the bill to be sent to the Venice Commission,” EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell, told reporters on Thursday.

According to Ambassador, judicial reform also is an essential component of the April 19 agreement.

“Judicial reform is also a vital component of the April 19 agreement. All sides treat it very seriously. It would be important to focus on the judges’ appointment process to the Supreme Court timely as this process approaches soon. There will also be appointments to the High Council of Justice. These two institutions are vital in building trust in the judiciary, “said Karl Hartzell.
