EU Ambassador: De-oligarchization means creating proper environment, conditions for democracy

Pawel Herczynski, EU Ambassador to Georgia said that de-oligarchization means creating a proper environment and conditions for democracy to “flourish.” In his words, it is not about names but “a system for democratic development.”

“For us, de-oligarchization is about creating a proper environment, about creating conditions for democracy to flourish, and for rich businessmen not to have undue influence on political life. So, from our point of view, from the European point of view, it’s not about names, any names, it’s about the system and environment that is conducive for democratic development,” he said.
