The U.S. Department of State’s (DOS) Global Anti-Corruption Coordinator, Richard Nephew had a “productive” visit to Georgia, according to the US Embassy to Georgia

Richard Nephew appreciated his meetings with government officials, anti-corruption institutions, investigative bodies, private sector, and civil society, the Embassy said.

“Combating corruption— especially by ensuring accountability and transparency— is an important factor in any country’s economic and democratic growth.  During his visit, Coordinator Nephew heard about and discussed ongoing efforts and ways to further deepen cooperation between the United States and Georgia in the global fight against corruption,” reads the Embassy’s tweet.
