Education Minister meets Georgia’s Friendship Group Head in Knesset
During the working visit to Israel, Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Affairs, Givi Mikanadze, met Georgia’s Friendship Group Head in the Knesset, David Bitton.
Within the bilateral meeting format, the sides reviewed friendly relations and prospects for deepening cooperation in the education sphere, focusing on academic and scientific cooperation, exchange programs for students and researchers and joint education projects.
According to Givi Mikanadze, Israel is a distinguished and reliable partner for Georgia. He spoke about the desire to establish the Kartvelology Department at Jerusalem’s University. David Bitton pledged full support to the Minister.
The meeting participants highlighted the significance of peace and stability and the role of international cooperation based on mutual respect as a key precondition for countries’ development. They reconfirmed readiness to continue active cooperation.
Sofio Otiashvili, Georgia’s Chargé d’Affaires ad interim to the State of Israel, members of the Georgian delegation, and representatives of the Knesset attended the meeting.
