Education Minister announces construction of modern school in Erisimedi, Sighnaghi municipality

The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, visited the village of Erisimedi in Sighnaghi Municipality, where he examined the school infrastructure damaged by a recent natural disaster and engaged with the local community.

“We visited Erisimedi in Sighnaghi Municipality to inspect the school building that requires urgent attention. We have prioritised this issue, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure, construction will commence this year. Once completed, the village will have a completely new school that meets modern standards. All necessary conditions will be put in place to ensure a full, effective educational environment for the local children, families, and teachers,” said Givi Mikanadze.

Due to safety regulations, the damaged school is currently non-operational, and the educational activities have been relocated to an alternative building.

The meeting with the local residents was also attended by Gia Benashvili, a delegate representing the municipalities of Gurjaani, Sagarejo, Sighnaghi, and Dedoplistskaro, as well as other local government officials.
