Economy Ministry dismisses report of Chinese consortium being on sanctions list

Georgian Economy Ministry has brushed off the information that the China Communications Construction Company Limited is on the sanctions list.

“It’s a lie. International sanctions do not apply to this company.” The Ministry claimed that “if the company’s proposal is successful, they would be able to freely engage in project development.”

Earlier today, Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili said China Communications Construction Company Limited, which submitted the final bid to the Anaklia Deep Sea Port Development Agency, will be officially declared as the winner in the coming days.
