Economy Minister attends opening of Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Investment Forum
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili has participated in the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Investment Forum, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital. The event is co-organised by the European Union as part of the Global Gateway initiative.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the forum aims to bolster the EU’s cooperation with partner countries along the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, promoting enhanced transport links between Europe and Asia.
The forum was inaugurated by Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister, Uzbekistan, Ilhom Mahkamov, Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela, and European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
A panel discussion is scheduled as part of the programme, during which Mariam Kvrivishvili will outline Georgia’s vision and plans for contributing to the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and establishing closer transport connections between the region and the European Union.
Mariam Kvrivishvili will also take part in a meeting of Transport Ministers from the European Union, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the Black Sea region, organised within the framework of the forum.
The Georgian delegation also includes Deputy Ministers Tamar Ioseliani and Gennadi Arveladze.
