Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Noel Curran visited the new building of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) at Anna Politkovskaya Street in Tbilisi.
GPB Director General, Tinatin Berdzenishvili and Chairman of the GPB Board of Trustees, Vasil Maghlaperidze accompanied the EBU Director General.
Noel Curran spoke about the significance of an ultra-modern building fitting standards for a broadcaster in a technologically developing epoch. He described the GPB new building as “impressive.”
“I have seen broadcasters all over Europe and I have to say that this is one of the most ambitious and exciting projects I have ever seen. It will change the working environment. It is very open and transparent and it is a step forward in digital technologies which is a part of what the GPB is trying to do” he said.
The EBU Director General is visiting Georgia within the framework of the 18th News Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) hosted by the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) on November 22-23.
