Destructive steps to be expected from part of opposition after municipal elections, GD's Kobakhidze promises to respond

“The opposition does not have any resources to carry out sabotage, to achieve anything with this sabotage,” Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Georgian Dream party, said.

According to Kobakhidze, there is an expectation that the opposition will take to the streets after the elections.

“It is clear from the behaviour of part of the opposition that they will probably take destructive steps after this election, but we will have our response to that. They do not have the resources even to sabotage or achieve anything with this sabotage. Our country will be able to develop peacefully for three years after these local self-government elections. The main thing now is to hold these elections properly on October 2. After that, this country will be developing peacefully for three years, which will allow us to make economic progress, develop socially and further strengthen our foreign position,” Kobakhidze said.
