Deputy Minister of Economy: Structural reforms contribute to economic growth
“In August, the economy grew by 6.6 per cent, and high economic growth will stand during 2025,” said Deputy Minister for Economy and Sustainable Development, Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
According to Vakhtang Tsintsadze, economic growth was also quite diverse across different sectors. Notably, the information and communications, education, healthcare, financial and insurance services, and energy sectors contributed significantly to the economic growth in August.
Positive trends were observed in tourism and trade, with exports increasing by 6.7%, amounting to USD 4.4 billion.
Vakhtang Tsintsadze emphasised that infrastructure projects, “implemented in an intensive regime with the Georgian government’s efforts,” contribute to the economic progress along with ongoing structural reforms.
“As a result of the ongoing optimisation in state-owned enterprises, more than GEL 700 million has been saved annually, which will be used to implement more productive projects. This process will ultimately help to accelerate economic growth in the medium term,” he said.
