Deputy Health Minister expects 40% price cut for first-round drugs
Georgian Health Ministry sets an upper price limit for medicines as part of the freshly-introduced reference pricing.
Deputy Health Minister, Ilia Ghudushauri, expects a 40% price cut for the pharmaceuticals chosen for the first round, describing it as “a big drop.” Additionally, the list of medications will progressively grow.
“At this stage, the regulation has an impact on about 50 medicines, which in total include about 1,200 different products on the market, with the majority of them being oncological and chronic illness medications,” Ghudushauri noted.
