Deputy Foreign Minister holds introductory meeting with newly appointed Head of Council of Europe Office

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Lasha Darsalia has held an introductory meeting with William Massolin, the newly appointed Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties highlighted the importance of close cooperation between Georgia and the Council of Europe and reviewed current agenda items and further plans.

“The role of the Council of Europe in supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity was highlighted. The Deputy Minister underscored the significance of the Council of Europe Secretary General’s consolidated reports on ‘Conflict in Georgia’ and the Committee of Ministers’ annual decision on the same matter.

The meeting also touched upon the implementation of projects outlined under the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2024–2027.

The parties agreed to maintain close cooperation. The Deputy Minister wished William Massolin every success in his new role,” the statement reads.
