Defense Minister pays tribute to soldiers who died in World War II

To commemorate the 79th anniversary of Victory over Fascism, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Minister of Defense Irakli Chikovani, and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, alongside other representatives from the legislative and executive branches, honoured the memory of the soldiers who perished in the Second World War.

They laid flowers at the bust of Meliton Kantaria in the Veterans Culture and Recreation Park. The leaders of the Georgian Defense Forces attended the ceremony.
