Defense Minister believes punishing Georgia for deposing dictatorship goes unjust to Georgian people

I am urging everyone in the European Union not to take decisions against the will of the people of Georgia, said Georgia’s Minister of Defense, Juansher Burchuladze, while remarking on the European Parliament’s report.

According to Burchuladze, the narrative that Bidzina Ivanishvili is an oligarch and Saakashvili should be released contradicts the will of the Georgian people.

“The narrative that Bidzina Ivanishvili is an oligarch and that Saakashvili and Gvaramia should be released goes against the will of the vast majority of Georgians. That can’t happen. Personally, and I speak for many others, I believe that punishing us because we deposed the dictatorial, sadistic regime will be a move against the people of Georgia,” said Burchuladze.
