Defence Ministry celebrates Cybersecurity Day

The Georgian Defence Ministry celebrates Cybersecurity Day, observed on February 6. A special activity on this occasion was held at the Army Hall.

Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani and Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces General-Major Giorgi Matiashvili congratulated the staff on Professional Day and commended them for their service.

Irakli Chikovani accentuated the significance of cyber security amid security challenges, stressing that cyber security was one of the top priorities for the ministry and highlighted the need for inter-agency cooperation strenghening and increasing human and financial resources.

Cybersecurity Bureau Director Luka Mgeladze summed up activities in his 2025 annual report. The Defence Ministry awarded the Commander of the Defence Forces and the Deputy Minister with honorary gifts.

The Cybersecurity Bureau of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia was established on February 6, 2014.
