Defence Minister views Georgia as closest partner among NATO non-ally states

Georgia’s full integration into NATO is Georgia’s goal as defined in the Constitution, said newly appointed Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani.

According to Irakli Chikovani, NATO leaders admit Georgia is the closest partner among non-ally countries for the achievements of the last ten years.

“Our country, our Defence Forces, count years of history and relations with NATO. That is why we have the results reached for the last ten years. Hence, the alliance leaders say that Georgia is the closest partner among non-ally states. Therefore, our cooperation and determination is confirmed not only by us but by our partners, by the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization,” he said.
