Defence Forces address heavy snowfall challenges

The Defence Forces are actively addressing the issues caused by heavy snowfall and assisting the population of western Georgia.

According to the Defence Ministry, deployed forces are operating in six areas utilizing specialized equipment, and they are coordinating efforts with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ rescue service.

In response to the heavy snowfall impacting western Georgia, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze ordered the deployment of Defence Forces to assist affected communities.

By directive from the Minister of Defence, units and technical resources from the Western and Eastern Commands, Special Operations, Troop Logistics, and Training and Military Education Commands have been mobilized to support emergency response efforts.
