Defence and Security Committee Chair meets EU Ambassador

Chairman of the Parliamentary Defence and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia, met EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski.

The meeting addressed the regional security environment, Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, Georgia’s European integration process, and Georgia-EU cooperation-related issues. “EU plays an important role in Georgia’s security.

The activity of the EU Monitoring Mission at the Administrative Boundary Line is pivotal in ensuring stability and security and informing the international community about the situation near the occupied regions,” Beraia said.

He added the government aimed to intensify and expand the EU-Georgia cooperation further.
