A protest rally organized by opposition groups is currently taking place on Rustaveli Avenue, near the Georgian parliament building.
The protesters, who are blocking traffic, are voicing their rejection of the results of the October 26 elections and deem the newly elected 11th parliament illegitimate.
Demonstrators spent the night outside the parliament building to protest the first session of the new legislature.
Law enforcement officers are stationed near the area.
