Covertly recorded audio between Giorgi Oniani, Akaki Minashvili: 'If city paralyzes, they'll collapse'

For.ge, a news outlet, has just published another covertly recorded audio. The tape validity featuring the conversation between Giorgi Oniani and Akaki Minashvili has not been confirmed.

The dialogue is as follows:

“Giorgi Oniani: What would happen if the riot police backed off?

Akaki Minashvili: Perhaps a new source of tension arises.

Giorgi Oniani: Let’s say that the city is paralyzed and there is nothing more to do… Someone said the other day that the city could open on the third day but it’s unrealistic and would lead to collapse – the prosecutor cannot go to work the next morning, he has a neighbour, mother…; The minister gives an interview from home; they are unable to meet; it (the government) has something to do, but if have no action plan, you will fail in chaos.”

The recording also features the conversation between Giorgi Oniani and an unidentified person:
“The interlocutor: “It was the same story last year when some individuals were abducted from Chichinadze and April 9 streets; that was a huge trigger.

Giorgi Oniani: Because the policemen were beaten there; you just don’t remember.

Interlocutor: They failed that day.

Giorgi Oniani: Because they didn’t have security mechanisms; people got there, but we couldn’t even enter parliament, remember?”
