The Plenum of the Constitutional Court of Georgia will submit its judgment on President Salome Zourabichvili’s impeachment to the parliament within one month.
The Court clarified that the Plenum will discuss the application of 80 lawmakers, Georgian Dream Chair Irakli Kobakhidze and Speaker Shalva Papuashvili among them.
“The authors of the constitutional submission addressed the Constitutional Court on September 12, 2023. After passing the required procedure, the submission was registered on September 14 according to the procedure established by the legislation,” the Court said.
The ruling Georgian Dream party decided to impeach President Salome Zourabichvili for violation of the constitution by travelling to European Union countries without the government’s permission.
