Constitutional Court terminates Irine Imerlishvili’s duties pre-term upon her application
The duties of Judge Irine Imerlishvili of the Constitutional Court of Georgia will be terminated earlier than the expiration of her service term, from October 20, upon her application, and based on the order of the Constitutional Court Chair, the Court announced.
“The Constitutional Court of Georgia wishes her success in her future endeavours,” reads the statement released by the Court.
Imerlishvili explained that her duty term was expiring in several months, adding that Judges in the Constitutional Court were appointed for a fixed term.
“Unlike General Courts, Judges in the Constitutional Court are appointed for a fixed term and for one term. I had less than one year, namely several months, left to serve as the Judge. I received the offer and will assume my new duties as the Rector from Monday. The university is in Georgia,” she said.
