ComCom issues written warning to Formula TV over political funding
The Communications Commission (ComCom) has issued a formal warning to Formula Multimedia, following its receipt of funds from a political party.
According to the Commission, monitoring revealed that the broadcaster received GEL 540,000 from the political alliance Unity–National Movement during the third quarter of 2025.
Under Article 661, Paragraph 1 of the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting, it is prohibited for a broadcaster to be financed by a political party, including the purchase of its services and any direct or indirect contributions towards the preparation or broadcast of programmes, unless expressly permitted under the law.
“Since Formula Multimedia has not been sanctioned for a similar breach in the past year, the Communications Commission has issued a written warning to the broadcaster,” states the Commission’s official notice.
