Coalition for Change's Melia says he has claims to jailed ex-president Saakashvili

“I, personally, have many evidence-based claims to Mikheil Saakashvili. He knows that and much has been said publicly, what and how things happened in 2021-2022. However this will happen only after his release from political imprisonment,” wrote Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, on the social networks.

Nika Melia remarked on the incident that occurred during the May 9 public rally when one part of the participants objected to bringing Mikheil Saakashvili’s banner to the protest.

According to Melia, agreeing on game rules instead of political taste is significant.

“It is significant to agree on game rules instead of political taste. It was hard to see yesterday how a protest participant was seized of the banner he carried by other participants. With the same success, would it be harmful to them to seize the megaphone for any outcry that might not suit someone’s political taste, especially if you represent the group, which has an ambition to engage in politics?

I, personally, have many evidence-based claims about Mikheil Saakashvili. He knows that and much has been said publicly, what and how things happened in 2021-2022. However, this will happen only after his release from political imprisonment. Currently, he is a political prisoner and his supporters have the right to protest. When we speak about unity, we should acknowledge that our power is in the unity of diversities, and in this process and protest, unity is what should be nurtured,” Melia wrote.
