Christophe Castaner: I've not discussed the suspension of visa-free travel with Georgia, since cooperation continues, but there is a possibility of its implementation
I have not discussed the suspension of the visa-free travel with Georgia, since cooperation continues, but there is a possibility of its implementation, – French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said at a press conference in Tbilisi, after meeting with Georgian Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia.
The Interior Minister responded to a French journalist’s question about the possibility of suspension of visa-free travel with Georgia amid the increased number of asylum seekers in France.
According to Christophe Castaner, cooperation is underway with the Georgian side regarding this issue.
“I have not discussed the suspension of the visa-free travel with Georgia, since cooperation continues, but there is a possibility of its implementation. Today, the number of asylum seekers has increased significantly and there is a huge demand for services in the health sector, I want to thank Georgia for working with us in this regard, and these issues are not yet on the agenda”, – French Minister said.
