According to the Ambassador, 2023 was a remarkable year when Georgia and China established a strategic partnership.
“We believe that our countries will achieve more success in the future. Besides high-level political trust, Georgia and China actively cooperate in tourism, education, trade, economy, and other key areas,” he said.
In response to the question on Chinese companies’ participation in the construction of Anaklia Port, Ambassador Zhou Qian said:
“We welcome the Georgian government’s decision and respect the country’s choice. We hope that Chinese companies will also be involved in ongoing projects and will contribute to the economic development of Georgia,” he said.
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili announced at the briefing that the Government of Georgia decided to construct Anaklia deep-sea port using the widely practised ‘Landlord’ model, under which the state will retain ownership of the core maritime and port infrastructure.
