Chinese Ambassador views launch of Shanghai-Tbilisi direct flights as testament to results of China-Georgia comprehensive strategic partnership
“I am happy to participate in the inaugural ceremony of the launch of direct flights from Shanghai to Tbilisi. This event is an obvious demonstration of the result achieved by the China-Georgia comprehensive strategic partnership of relations launched early last month,” said Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian.
According to the Ambassador, Shanghai is not only the economic and financial centre of China but is also located in the richest region of the country. He further noted that the launch of direct flights ensures the inflow of more tourists, businesspersons and investments.
“This is also an excellent opportunity for the Georgian people to visit the beautiful region of China. As far as I know, Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili will fly to Shanghai on the very first response flight to participate in the opening ceremony of the annual World Artificial Intelligence Conference.
I believe that in the future, this air link and direct flight, serving as a vital bridge between China and Georgia, will further contribute to and deepen our bilateral cooperation,” he said.
