Chief of Georgian Defence Forces visits Slovakia

Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces, General-Major Giorgi Matiashvili, is visiting Bratislava, Slovakia, where he is hosted by his colleague Daniel Zmeko, Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces.

According to the Defence Ministry, following the official welcoming ceremony with the participation of honourary guards, the colleagues reviewed bilateral cooperation issues, stressing the significance of participating in international training and sharing experience.

Giorgi Matiashvili highlighted the Slovakian experts’ active participation in NATO-Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP) initiatives and thanked his counterpart for support.

The Georgian Defence Forces delegation held meetings with Slovakia’s Vice Prime Minister and Defence Minister and visited a military industrial company, producing artillery systems and armament.
