CEC Chairman meets consular officials, briefs on election innovations

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Giorgi Kalandarishvili, met Georgian consular officials operating abroad in connection with the Global Elections Day observed on February 1 and familiarized them with election innovations and electronic technologies to be applied for the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The meeting participants cast their ballots through an imitated voting procedure and inspected voters’ verification and vote-counting devices.

“It is important for us to closely communicate with the Foreign Ministry to ensure holding elections in line with international standards with joint efforts,” Giorgi Kalandarishvili said.

Tbilisi hosts a 5-day coordination meeting of consular officials of Georgia abroad, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the meeting, the participants will discuss significant issues related to consular activities.
