Caucasus Eagle 2022 military drills kick off

The Caucasus Eagle 2022 drill involving Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Georgian Special Forces has officially started.

The annual trilateral drill commenced with a welcome at the Mukhrovani Training Centre. General Irakli Chichinadze, Deputy Chief Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces, and Colonel Teimuraz Klateishvili, Head of Special Operations Forces, addressed the participants and wished them success. Turkish and Azerbaijani military authorities attended the event.

The manoeuvres are intended to strengthen interoperability and coordination among Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Georgian military subunits in crisis situations.

Turkey hosted the annual drill last year.
