Catarina Bjorlin Hansen: Energy Network Strengthening Project is very important for Georgia, for investors interested in renewable energy
Energy Network Strengthening Project is very important for Georgia and it envisages the modernization of electronic network throughout the country, – said the EBRD Regional Director for the Caucasus, Catarina Bjorlin Hansen.
As she pointed out, first of all this project is important for the efficiency of electronic networks, which provide electricity to the population.
“Also, the project is very important for investors who are interested in investing in renewable energy, as the power system will have the opportunity to receive electricity generated by hydropower as well as wind and solar power plants. We are very pleased and proud to have signed this agreement and look forward to working closely with Georgia to implement this project,” – said Catarina Bjorlin Hansen.
An agreement has been signed between Georgia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which provides for the allocation of 90 million euros to strengthen and improve Georgia’s energy network.
