Brighton 4th Director hopes to meet expectations, congratulates team, its GPB co-producer
“I hope we will live up to the expectations and strongly perform at Oscars. My congratulations to the whole team and the Georgian Public Broadcaster, which is our co-producer,” said Levan Koghuashvili, the Brighton 4th Director, in remarks about the selection panel’s decision to submit his film for Oscars and Golden Globes Awards.
“I am very much happy! It is the result of many years of joint work of many people. It does not mean competition between us in any way. In the time of the pandemic, Georgian cinematography managed to make triumphant films. Our film, due to its American specificity, was considered more suitable for the Oscars. I think that is a more professional and collegial decision for our sector, which is very evolving and can make professional decisions. Congratulations to our team because it was an international co-production of several countries. I would also compliment the GPB First Channel, a co-producer and one of our most ardent supporters. I hope we will live up to the expectations and strongly perform at Oscars,” Levan Koguashvili said.
Georgia will submit the Brighton 4th by Georgian film director Levan Koghuashvili, co-produced by Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB), for Oscars and Golden Globes Awards. Three Georgian films competed for a contender film status at Oscars this year.
