Border Police detain two foreign nationals at Kartsakhi border sector in Akhaltsikhe

Border police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), in conjunction with customs officials from the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, have detained two foreign nationals at the Kartsakhi Border Sector in the Akhaltsikhe district. The individuals are identified as T.K., born in 1962, and J.B., born in 1998, under Part One of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

According to the Georgian Border Police statement, an investigation revealed that a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye, T.K., born in 1962, was involved in the illegal transportation of a migrant, also a Turkish citizen, J.B., born in 1998. T.K. allegedly smuggled J.B. across the border from Türkiye through a concealed compartment in a trailer under his control at the Kartsakhi border crossing.

Following a court order, immigration procedures were carried out against the individuals, and they were subsequently expelled from the country.
