Border Police detain foreign national, wanted under Interpol Red Notice, for illegal crossing of state border

Officers of the Border Police of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detained a foreign national, born in 1992, for illegal crossing of the state border, bypassing the border checkpoint.

According to the Border Police, the investigation determined that the detained individual was wanted by Turkiye under the Interpol red notice for producing and selling narcotic drugs.

The investigation is in progress under Part 1 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Extradition procedures are underway.
