Board of Directors of Colleges convenes under Education Minister's leadership

Led by Givi Mikanadze, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, a gathering of the Board of Directors of Vocational Educational Institutions took place at Modus College in Rustavi.

According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, the Minister briefed attendees on the key directions of the comprehensive reform of higher education, which was recently unveiled to the public by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

As Givi Mikanadze emphasised, it is vital to foster the development and strengthening of vocational education alongside the implementation of this reform.

“The meeting also addressed important issues such as financing colleges to enhance infrastructure and provide the necessary resources for institutional growth. The session was conducted in a question-and-answer format, allowing participants to receive detailed information from the Minister on topics of their interest,” the Ministry stated.

The ministry further noted that the council meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Baia Kvitsiani, representatives of the ministry, and college heads.

“A decision by the Minister ensures that the council meets regularly, and at each gathering, members review initiatives aimed at strengthening the vocational education system, expanding opportunities for students, and contributing to the country’s economic development,” the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth added.
