Birth rate decreased by 5, 8 % in 2017

Birth rate decreased by 5, 8 % in 2017 in Georgia. Out of 53 293 children born, the 27 658 were boys and 25 635 – girls.

According to Statistics National Service, majority of the children were born in Tbilisi. The smallest number of children was born in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Kartli regions.

In comparison to 2016, the share of first born child decreased from 40, 6 to 38, 9%.
